What IS mod_mocrify ?
Mod_Mocrify is a plugin for the Apache Web Server. It is designed
to minimize the outgoing HTML code by removing unnecessary
characters. The current version is far von beeing perfect, and it
leaves some non needed chars in the file.
In mocrify mode, it also replaces all visible chars by their entity
representation, this makes the code quite...unreadable, but has no
impact on the displayed Document.
Is mod_mocrify Micr*soft compatible ?
There are some known problems of mod_mocrify with Micr*soft Windoze,
but theese can easily be solved by installing the Servicepack 7 (read
this
article
in Segfault.org ).
Is mod_mocrify usefull?
Uhmmm.... Errr... not exactly... Well,I was told, that it could be usefull
when used as a post-processor for cgi-scripts or php or something like
that, I'll check if this is possible and how to configure Apache to
do so and add a description to the FAQ and the README.
What about Scripts (Javascript, etc)?
Sorry, this version of mod_mocrify renders JavaScript unusable,
as it removes all \n's from the script :(
There will be a fixed version available in a few days.
Can I have an RPM(deb,zip,pak,...)
binary version of mod_mocrify?
No. But if you ask nicely, I could make binaries for linux-alpha and
IRIX
Why is my question not answered here?
Just ask it frequently, and I'll aswer it here.
